Kelantan down Pahang to go top - NST

Feb 18, 2009

KELANTAN hit top form to whitewash Pahang 5-1 in a Malaysian Super League match at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan and in the process snatched the lead from Selangor.
Zairul Fitres Ishak put the visitors ahead in the 9th minute but Pahang pulled level through Hasmizan Kamarodin in the 25th minute.

But the goal served only to motivate Kelantan who dominated the match from that point on with former national striker Mohamed Khalid Jamlus hitting a brace with goals in the 33rd and 74th minute.

Mohamed Badrul Mohamed Radzi and Indra Putra Mahayuddin (pic) added the other two with goals in the 61st and 62nd minutes respectively.

With six wins out of seven matches, Kelantan are now on 18 points, three more than Selangor who dropped to second on 15 after losing 1-0 to UPB MyTeam in their match at the Shah Alam Stadium last night.
Perlis are third also on 15 points but with an inferior goal difference after they managed a 2-1 win over Johor FC at the JCorp Stadium in Pasir Gudang.

In other matches played last night, Negri Sembilan shared the spoils with KL Plus when they drew 0-0 at the Paroi Stadium, Kedah beat Kuala Muda Naza 2-1 at the Darulaman Stadium, Penang beat Police 3-1 at the Batu Kawan Stadium while Terengganu upset Perak 1-0 at the Perak Stadium. -- Bernama
